Joining & Attending Activities
How to join, request to join, bring friends, and fill out forms.
Common questions
Open the activity detail page, set the number of people (if allowed), pick add-ons if any, then follow the steps: fill out the registration form, sign the waiver and pick seats if the activity asks for them, then continue to payment for paid activities.
For free activities, you're confirmed right away once you fill out the form.
If the host turns on approval, the button becomes "Request to Join": you submit a request without paying first and wait for the host's approval.
For paid activities, once approved you're asked by notification and email to pay within 24 hours. For free activities, you're confirmed right away once approved. If your request is declined, you aren't notified.
If the host turns on the waitlist, you're automatically added to the queue with a position number, and you can leave anytime from the options menu.
When a spot frees up, the system calls up one person from the waitlist at its next routine check, which runs every 5 minutes. Each check calls up only one person per activity, and people aren't necessarily called in the order they joined the queue. If you queued for several people, you're only called up once enough spots are free for all of them. You'll get a notification and an email with a payment link, plus one of the free seats if the activity uses a seating plan.
Complete the payment as soon as you're called up. The message may mention a 24-hour deadline, but a spot from the waitlist is only held briefly: if you haven't started paying, it passes to the next person.
If there's neither a waitlist nor Request to Join, the join button is disabled and reads "Activity is Full". If the host uses Request to Join, you can still submit a request while the activity is full, but the host can only approve it once enough spots are free for everyone in your request.
If the host turns on Group Join, you can increase the number of people up to the remaining spots, then fill in each friend's details (Friend 1, Friend 2, etc.).
If the feature is turned off, the number of people is locked to the minimum set by the host and can't be changed.
Already confirmed? You can still add friends to your registration later, any time until registration closes: at the bottom of the activity page, choose how many with the − and + buttons next to Add friends, then tap Add friends. They pay today's price, and the admin fee applies again to that payment, unless the host covers it. A pass or voucher works. They get the same add-ons as your registration, and if the activity has a form, you fill one in for each of them. If the host approves joins, they review the request first, and you pay within 24 hours of their approval. You can have one request in progress at a time; to withdraw it, open the ⋯ menu and choose Cancel adding friends. Friends still waiting for payment show as Pending in the participant list. Add friends isn't available on activities with a seating plan, when Group Join is off, while people are on the waitlist, or when the activity is full.
All questions that have a title are required and must be answered according to their type. Answers are validated directly in the app (text length, number range, date format). On a checkbox question you can tick more than one choice; how many to pick is shown under the question (for example Pick at least 2), and the form can be sent once you've picked the right number. The current app can't show checkbox questions yet; if the form won't send from the app, register on the web (kuyy.app) or update the app once the new version is out. Some answers are auto-filled from your Personal Information (your date of birth, for example), and the host of the activity you join can see those form answers; fields you leave empty are not auto-filled.
If you register as a guest, you enter a valid email (confirmed twice) and check the terms agreement. If the activity requires a waiver, you sign it before finishing.
The host set a registration deadline on that activity. Before the deadline, the activity page shows a "Register until" row with the date and time, in the activity's timezone.
After it passes, the join button is replaced by a "Registration has been closed" notice, and adding friends closes too. You can still get in if a join request or waitlist place you had from before the deadline is approved or called up, if a participant sends you their spot, or if the host registers you on the spot at the venue.
From the start. The full address and the See Map button sit on the activity detail page for anyone who can open it, even before you register and before you pay.
The only thing that limits it is who can find the activity: Invite-only activities do not appear on Home or in search, but anyone holding the link still sees the address. The address is hidden only once the activity is cancelled.
The Upcoming list only shows activities that are still scheduled and have not yet passed. If any of the following happened, the activity drops off it.
The activity's time has passed, or the host cancelled or completed it.
You left the activity, or the host removed you from the participant list.
Your payment expired before it was completed. Your registration is cancelled automatically about 10 minutes after the payment deadline passes. If the money was actually debited, that is a case for the support team: contact them with the Order ID, which is on the transaction's details (Settings, Transactions, then open the transaction; app versions before the newest update label it Order No).
If none of these match your situation, contact support and mention the activity name.
On Home, tap the Filter button beside the tab row and choose Location. A map-based location search opens. Pick the city or area you want, and the activity list reloads for that location. The same filter sheet is on all four tabs: All, Following, For you and Flash Sale.
Note that this location choice is not saved. If you close and reopen the app, it goes back to following your device's GPS, so you will need to pick it again.
You can adjust the search radius using the Distance filter.
Home has four tabs: All (every upcoming activity, day by day), Following (activities from hosts you follow, day by day), For you, and Flash Sale (on the web, this tab shows while a flash sale is running). For you shows public activities around your location that you haven't joined yet, ordered for you: ones starting soon and nearby rise, categories you have attended or saved to your Wishlist rise, nearly full ones rise a little, and one host shows at most 3 activities. Hosts you follow get no boost here; their activities are on the Following tab. In the app, every tab but All needs you to sign in.
Each time you refresh (pull down in the app, reload on the web), activities with near-equal scores are reshuffled so something new gets seen. What clearly matches you stays on top. The personalization cannot be switched off; for an unpersonalized list, open the All tab.
Flash Sale only lists activities currently on discount. Location, category, dates, time of day and distance are set from the Filter button, the same on all four tabs; there is no sort option. The app's old Favorites feature is gone: for a host use Follow (their activities appear on the Following tab), for a category use the filter or the category row above the list, and for a specific activity use the Wishlist. In app versions before 8.5, For you and Flash Sale sit under the house-icon tab, and All and Following under the globe-icon tab.
Tap the heart on the activity page (in the app it is in the top bar, on the web at the top of the page). Tap it again to remove it. The list lives under Settings, My Activities, Wishlist, and behind the Wishlist button (in the app: the heart icon) on your own profile. You need to be signed in.
On the web, activities you can still join come first, soonest at the top; ones that have ended or been cancelled sit under Unavailable and can be cleared at once. In the app they all show in one list. The wishlist is private and holds the same activities in the app and on the web.
A wishlist is not a registration: it holds no slot and sends no notification when the quota runs out or the activity is cancelled. To be told when a slot frees up, join that activity's waitlist. What you save is a specific activity, so on a recurring activity it is the session you opened, not the whole schedule.
Not by yourself yet, in either the app or the web. If you need one removed, contact support and mention the activity and roughly when you shared it.
Moments also cannot be edited after they are posted.
An important privacy note: Moments show on the activity's page to anyone who opens it, even if your account is set to private. On your profile, they're only hidden from non-followers when your account is private.
It's the same. A host site built with KUYY is connected straight to KUYY, so the schedule and packages shown there are that host's real activities and passes. When you sign up you still go through the same KUYY flow: sign in or register as a guest, fill in the form, then pay.
That means the outcome matches registering in the app. Your registration, your pass, and your payment land in the same KUYY account, and the host cannot change the registration or payment flow through their site. Two small differences: registering through a host's site makes you follow that host automatically, and a Business host can choose to keep their flash sales off their own site.
A site only shows that host's own activities and passes, never another host's. It also isn't a replacement for the host's KUYY profile page, the two run side by side, so you can still find the same class through the KUYY app or website.
A host can group several activities into one set of options, for example one class with three different sessions, or one event with regular and VIP tickets. On Home the group shows as one card; open it and the detail page shows an Activity Variation section with the option you're viewing plus the other options. The first five appear straight away, and the rest are behind See All Activities.
Pick the variation you want, then register the way you would for any activity. Your registration applies to that variation only, so if you want to attend more than one, register for each variation separately.
Here's the part people usually get wrong: variations aren't capacity tiers inside a single activity. Each variation is its own activity with its own name, date, price, capacity, and form, and its participants, group chat, and check-in are separate too.

Detailed rules for each related feature, plus important notes.
As a participant, the privacy level decides where you can find an activity. Public activities are easy to find, Followers-only activities appear only if you follow the host, and Invite-only activities can only be opened through a link from the host. If an activity uses host approval or a waitlist, your registration may not be confirmed right away.
- •Public activities: you can find them on Home (the All and For you tabs), in search, and on the Following tab if you follow the host.
- •Followers-only activities: appear only on the Following tab if you follow the host, not on the All or For you tabs or in search. Anyone who has the link can still open one.
- •Invite-only activities: don't appear on Home or in search. You can only open one through a link from the host, or if you're already registered.
- •Privacy doesn't change how you register. If the host turned on Request to Join, you send a request and wait for approval, at any privacy level.
- •If the activity is full, you can join the waitlist if the host enabled it. The waitlist and host approval are never on at the same time.
- •Which participants you can see depends on the host's settings; the host can hide the participant list from other participants.
Important notes
• Invite-only gives the most privacy: no notifications, nothing on Home or in search, and only the host, registered participants, or people with the link can open it.
• Followers-only controls where the activity is shown, not who may register: someone who doesn't follow the host can still register if they have the link.
As a participant, you can send a request to join without paying first, then wait for the host's decision. On a paid activity, you pay after your request is approved and must finish within 24 hours. On a free activity, you're confirmed right away once approved.
- •When you send a request, you fill in the registration form and pick add-ons if there are any, without paying.
- •After you send it, your status is waiting for host approval and the button shows Join Request Sent.
- •If you're approved on a paid activity, you get a notification and an email with a payment link. Complete the payment within 24 hours; after that your request expires.
- •If you're approved on a free activity, you're confirmed right away and get a notification.
- •If you're rejected, you aren't notified and your request disappears from that activity. You can send a new request.
Important notes
• Request to Join and the Waitlist can't be on at the same time; if you turn one on while the other is active, you're asked to choose.
• Requests still waiting for approval don't take up the activity's capacity.
• If the activity has a seating plan, participants pick their seats when they send the request.
If you register while an activity is full and its waitlist is enabled, you automatically join the queue and your position number is shown. While you wait, the join button can't be pressed. You can leave the queue at any time through the options menu on the activity page.
- •When the activity is full, the join button changes to Join Waitlist. Once you register, you're in the queue and your position number is shown.
- •While you wait, the join button can't be pressed and shows your waitlist status.
- •You can leave the queue at any time with Leave Activity in the options menu on the activity page.
- •If you queued for several people, your turn only comes once enough spots are free for all of them. When your turn comes, your status changes to awaiting payment and you get a notification plus an email with a payment link.
- •Complete the payment straight away. If it isn't paid promptly, your call-up is cancelled and the spot goes to the next person in the queue.
Important notes
• Host approval and the waitlist can't be on at the same time. With approval, the host picks participants one by one; with the waitlist, the queue order decides.
• People aren't called up the moment someone leaves; a periodic check every 5 minutes does it, so there can be a gap of a few minutes.
• The 24-hour deadline shown in the payment reminder email or on screen doesn't apply to a waitlist call-up. The spot is only held briefly, so pay as soon as you can.
When Group Join is on, you can set the number of people on the activity page before you register. If you register more than one person, the form shows a separate section for each friend (Friend 1, Friend 2, and so on). When Group Join is off, the number is locked.
- •The activity page has a quantity picker that starts at the host's minimum. Raise or lower it with the plus and minus buttons, up to the remaining spots.
- •When Group Join is off, the number is locked at the minimum the host set (usually 1).
- •If you register more than one person, fill in each friend's details in the Friend 1, Friend 2, and later sections, unless the host turned on Data for one person only.
- •The host sees your name along with the number of people in your registration.
- •After you're registered, you can add friends to your registration with Add friends, as long as the activity hasn't started, registration is still open, spots are left, nobody is on the waitlist, and the activity doesn't use a seating plan. Prices and fees are calculated at that moment, and if the activity uses host approval, your request waits for approval first.
Important notes
• Group Join and Minimum Quantity are two different settings: one decides whether friends can come along, the other sets the smallest number per registration.
• Group Join is different from Request to Join: Request to Join is about host approval, Group Join is about how many people are in one registration. Both can be on at the same time.
• Group Join is also different from the Group Discount, which lowers the price as more participants join.
You can see how many spots are left and choose the number of people when you register. The join button changes with the capacity and the host's settings, for example when the activity is full, has a waitlist, or needs approval.
- •On the activity page, you can see how many spots are still available.
- •You can't choose fewer people than the host's minimum or more than the remaining spots; the minus and plus buttons turn off at those limits.
- •If the host turned Group Join off, the number is locked at exactly the minimum.
- •If the activity is full and there's no waitlist, the join button is disabled and reads Activity is Full.
- •If the activity is full but the host offers a waitlist, the button becomes Join Waitlist along with the number of people currently waiting.
- •If the host requires approval, the button becomes Request to Join.
Important notes
• The Minimum Quantity per registration is different from the Auto-Cancel minimum: the first is about how many people per registration, the second decides when the activity is cancelled for having too few participants.
• Capacity is counted per person, not per registration: one registration for 5 people uses up 5 spots.
• There's no maximum per registration other than the remaining spots.
• People still waiting for host approval or on the waitlist don't take up capacity yet.
When you register, you answer every form question the host asks. Answers you've saved before can be filled in automatically. If you register several people, you also fill in each friend's details, unless the host only asks for the main registrant's data.
- •You can register with your account, or as a guest with your name, email, and phone number. A guest registration goes to the account that owns that email (or a new account) and can't be paid with KUYY Balance.
- •As a guest, you must tick the terms agreement before continuing.
- •Every question with a title must be answered, including those already filled in automatically. Pre-filled answers are grouped in a collapsible General Information section.
- •Answers are checked by type as you fill them in, such as text length, number range, or date format.
- •If you register more than one person and the host hasn't turned on Data for one person only, fill in each friend's details in the Friend 1, Friend 2, and later sections.
- •The Verified Phone Number question can only be answered if you're signed in with a number verified through WhatsApp.
- •If the host has a waiver, you sign it before completing your registration. Your signature covers all of that host's activities until the host changes the waiver.
- •The Continue button only becomes active once every required question is answered.
Important notes
• Copy to all friends only works for the host's custom questions.
• If your email address isn't from a common email provider (such as Gmail or Yahoo), you're asked to make sure it's correct before continuing.
