Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how KUYY! collects, stores, protects, and shares your information, and with whom we share it. Please read it together with our Terms & Conditions of Use.

By the Site, we mean the KUYY! app (including the desktop version), our websites and microsites (such as kuyy.app and kuyy.id), and our other digital products and services (such as competitions or surveys). You may also choose to share information with other Users, including your friends and contacts ("Users"), and we ourselves sometimes need to share your information.

The App and Site are global. Your information will be sent to and processed in Indonesia, regardless of the country in which you live. This policy explains how we protect your personal data when transferring it abroad, so please read it carefully.

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We collect information in two ways: information you provide directly, and information collected automatically when you use KUYY!.

Information you provide

When you download the App and create an account, we collect Registration Information, such as:

• Name
• Username
• Email address
• Mobile number
• Gender identity
• Date of birth
• Photo
• Location
• Login information for social media accounts you connect to your KUYY! account (for example Facebook and Instagram)

You can review and change this information at any time by signing in to KUYY! (except date of birth and location; location is updated automatically if you grant KUYY! location access on your device). Keep your account details, including your phone number, up to date. This information helps us improve the service and verify Users (we do not accept robots). Your name and username may be visible to other Users on your profile page.

Think carefully about the information you disclose on your profile. It is best not to include sensitive data that is prone to misuse, such as an email address, URL, instant messaging details, phone number, full name or address, credit card details, national ID number, or driver's license details.

Purchase information. If you buy premium services, we process and securely store your payment information for fraud prevention and audit/tax purposes.

Customer service. When you contact our Customer Service team at [email protected], we receive your email address, may track your IP address, and store the information you send to help us resolve your issue.

Surveys and other contributions. We occasionally run surveys for research and may contact you to participate, give feedback or a testimonial, or take part in marketing campaigns.

Information collected automatically

Geolocation data. If location services on your device are enabled, we track the physical location of your device to offer location-based services, such as finding Users in your area.

Log and device data. We automatically collect data from your device, including IP address, operating system, browser type, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.

Links. We may track your interactions with links in our services, including links to third-party services, and may share click statistics in aggregate form (for example, how many times a link was clicked).

Cookies. We use cookies and similar tracking technologies (such as web beacons and pixels) to recognize you and/or your device. Some cookies are essential for you to use KUYY!, for example to access secure areas.

Messages

We review the content of messages in the App to understand topics, sentiment, and trends among Users. We remove personally identifiable information before reviewing the content, and we do not share Users' message content or findings from those messages with any third party.

2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use Registration Information and other data to make your experience on KUYY! enjoyable and seamless, namely to:

• Provide our services and features.
• Contact you with information about the App, such as updates and new features.
• Identify trends in how Users use and interact with the App/Site.
• Personalize the App/Site and the content we display.
• Conduct research and usage analysis.
• Resolve disputes, troubleshoot problems, investigate fraud, protect our legal rights, and enforce our Terms & Conditions.
• Send promotional information and offers, if you subscribe to our newsletter or give permission.
• Protect our Users and third parties from potential harm.

Moderation Practices

We use automated systems and a team of moderators to monitor accounts (including photos and profile information) and messages, in order to detect content that violates our Terms & Conditions of Use. Accounts that violate them may be warned, restricted, and/or blocked, and we reserve the right to terminate or restrict access to your account.

Legal Basis

Under European Union and United Kingdom data protection law, we are required to tell you the legal basis for using your data. If the basis is consent, you may withdraw consent at any time; if the basis is legitimate interest, you have the right to object to the use of your data.

We do not disclose your Registration Information or personal data, except in the following limited circumstances:

4. PUBLIC PROFILE AND CONNECTED ACCOUNTS

KUYY! is designed to make it easy for you to connect and interact with other Users. Assume that anything you upload or send in the App can be viewed and accessed publicly, by both KUYY! users and non-users, so be careful about sharing information that could become public.

Be careful about posting sensitive personal details on your profile, such as religious affiliation, political views, or health information. You may also add sensitive information via badges on your profile, such as religious beliefs or political views. Providing this information — including sexual preferences — is voluntary and not required.

The profile and information you share through the App, including data from third-party accounts (such as Facebook, Instagram, or Spotify), may be viewed and forwarded by other Users to people who may not be users of the App.

Signing in with a social media account

When you sign in using Facebook, you allow Facebook to share your name and profile photo; unless you object, also your email address, date of birth, gender, the pages you like, and the city where you currently live. When you sign in with Apple ID, you allow Apple to share your login, name, and email; you can hide your private email and Apple will create a random email so that your privacy is maintained.

Linking a social media account

You can link your KUYY! account with Instagram, Facebook, or Spotify to share certain information directly to your KUYY! account (for example photos from Instagram or favorite artists from Spotify). We receive only the limited information those platforms allow, in accordance with the terms you agree to when connecting the account.

5. SECURITY

We are committed to protecting your information from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, and disclosure, by applying reasonable security measures such as firewall-protected servers.

However, no website or internet transmission is 100% secure. Although we make every effort, we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, hacking, data loss, or other breaches will not occur.

We cannot guarantee the security of your personal data while it is being transmitted to our site; each transmission is done at your own risk.

6. DATA RETENTION AND DELETION

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary under the legal bases described in Section 2 and as permitted by applicable law.

You can permanently delete your account at any time (although we hope you stay with us!). After an account is deactivated, we endeavor to ensure the account is no longer accessible in the App, except where we need to retain information to:

1. Comply with applicable law (for example, retaining some in-app purchase data for accounting purposes).
2. Demonstrate our compliance with applicable law.
3. Handle legal matters, claims, or disputes until they are resolved.
4. Serve legitimate business interests, such as fraud prevention and keeping users safe.

7. DATA LOCATION AND INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS

So that KUYY! can be accessed from anywhere in the world, we use a global network of servers, including in the US, UK, EU, and (for users in Russia) Russia. This infrastructure is located in third-party data centers but owned by PT Kreasi Untuk Indonesia.

Data collected by Advertising Partners and other Service Providers may also be stored outside the UK and the European Economic Area (EEA). We ensure your data is protected with valid legal mechanisms, such as the model clauses approved by the European Union and the application of strict contractual standards.

8. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS

The privacy laws that apply in your country may grant you the following rights. The rights available may differ depending on the country where you are located.

• Right to be Informed: to know what personal data we process and why (explained in this Policy).
• Right of Access: to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Right to Rectification: to correct inaccurate data.
• Right to Erasure: to request deletion of your personal data in certain circumstances.
• Right to Restrict Processing: to request that processing be paused temporarily, while the data is retained.
• Right to Data Portability: to request a copy of certain data in a machine-readable format and move it to another service provider.
• Right to Object and Withdraw Consent: to object to certain processing (including that based on legitimate interest or for marketing) and to withdraw your consent at any time.
• Rights related to Automated Decision-Making and Profiling: to request human review of a decision made entirely automatically without human intervention.
• Right to Lodge a Complaint: to submit a complaint to the competent data protection authority.

California Residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) you have the right to request that we disclose and explain how we collect, use, and share your personal information over the last 12 months, and to request deletion of that information (except where exempted by law). You have the right not to be subject to unlawful discrimination for exercising these rights. Under the Shine the Light Law (California Civil Code section 1798.83), you may also ask how your personal data is shared with third parties for direct marketing — please contact us at [email protected].

From time to time we may run promotions together with third parties. If you participate, we may share your contact information with third parties for the marketing of their products or services; if this is a condition of the promotion, we will notify you beforehand.

We currently do not track users' personal information over time across third-party online services, and we do not knowingly allow third parties to collect users' personal information about their online activities over time while using the KUYY! app.

9. OUR POLICY TOWARD AGE

You must be at least 18 years old to use the KUYY! App.

KUYY! does not knowingly collect information from, or market its services to, children, teenagers, or anyone under 18 years of age. If you are under 18, please do not provide any information to us. If we learn that a user under 18 has registered and provided their personal information, we will take steps to delete that account.

10. CHANGES TO THE PRIVACY POLICY

As KUYY! grows, we may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version is always available at kuyy.id. If there are changes we consider significant, we will notify you, for example via an email associated with your account or with a direct notice in the KUYY! app.
